I took left-over Chinese food to work for my lunch...

'I took left-over Chinese food to work for my lunch. On my way to the gallery I saw a husband and wife next to a skip. The wife was operating a pneumatic drill in casual clothes. The man picked up bits of what ever she was drilling, and threw it in to the skip. Further up the road, a young child was riding a bike with stabilisers. He was naked apart from wellington boots and a cushion wrapped around his chest, tied with a piece of string. No one was with him, so I had to assume that the couple I had seen were his parents. When I got to work, my lunch box had tipped over in my bag, covering my notebook and a James Joyce novel in soy sauce.' colour photograph, 2008.
